equally embarrassing, at that age, I wanted to be Olivia Newton John (my daycare teacher even called me "Olivia"). I have the cassette tapes of me singing (if you could call that) to prove it.
I'm sorry, Jackie, but I'm going to require a link here, because as I stated before: Solid. Gold. Dancer. I'm not sure something called "hamster-dance" could compete. I may be wrong, though; I'm open.
As an aside to this post, I also downloaded "U Can't Touch This," and it's interesting to listen to it right after "Super Freak" - Hammer totally gentrified the opening bass line, which is much more gritty on SF. Still, I love UCTT - brings back very fond memories: “My-my-my-my MUSIC hits me… so hard, makes me say ‘Oh, my Lord! Thank you for blessing me with a mind to rhyme and two hyped feet…” Whoo! I don’t care what kind of music snob you are: I dare you to listen to this and try to sit still.
Okay, Marla, I really may just have to sleep on this one. Tonight, all I'm gonna say is that it's really interesting that you wanted to be OLN and everything...but I WAS OLN. Oh, Honey, where were you in the 70's and 80's? Just a few miles away. We could have had SO much fun. ;-)
Well If it's confession time, I guess I should divulge my love for the hampster-dance. :\
