danny's not here, mrs. torrance

If you know what movie that line's from, and if you've read yesterday's post, then you'll know the line has been in my head for over twenty-four hours. I'm not sure this is a good indication of my current mental state.

What movie lines have been in your heads lately?

  1. "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball"

:) That's been in my head all day! :)

    Have a great weekend.

  2. Rashenbo, I'm going to guess the obvious and say that's from Dodge Ball. Am I right? :-)

OK, OK, you got that one. Now for the Tuesday challenge.

    "Farmboy, fetch me that pitcher"

BUT you have to say it with a British accent so it sounds like, "Faahmboy, fetch me thatt Pitchah"

AND the double challenge is to respond to this with the next line of the movie, WHICH, if you needed a hint, is the phrase with which I answered my husband's marriage proposal about 15 loooong years ago.

Huh, huh? Betcha can't do it. But one of your Bloggites will know it for sure.

  6. ::yawn::

    "As you wish."

C'mon, give me a challenge here. :-) Between the boy and the husband, don't you think I've had to watch The Princess Bride one-point-three gazillion times?

(My favorite version of this line, though, is when Wesley is tumbling down the steep hill, just before Buttercup realizes who he is: "Aaaaaaaas youuuuuuuuuuu wiiiiiiiiish..."

  8. Okay miss fancy pants..Guess this one:

"You know I want to give you everything you want. But I can't. It's broken."

  9. Jackie has stumped me. Of course, I briefly considered googling this phrase so that I could then come here and say, "It's from (insert movie title here)!!! See how smart I am???" But I wouldn't do that.

    Would I?

Oh, you are just too good, girlie!

By the way, last night one of the local radio personalities was reminiscing that she used to pull her turtleneck over her head so that it hung like long hair down her back and she'd jump around and pretend that she was a Solid Gold Dancer. I know just the one she liked too...

Ok, ok, I don't know the "I can't, it's broken" movie, but it sounds a little like "Terms of Endearment". Certainly that could come from Shirley McLaine's mouth in a heartbeat.

Here's the Wednesday quote for you:

    "Laugh it up, Fuzzball."
